Work Bench Materials, Tools, and Costs

Using plans from:

for the base.

For the top.

I'm heavily modifying the plans, because they're not precisely what I need. I need a 46" x 24" work surface with a very heavy/rugged base for decent wood working. The slightly odd dimensions are because of the area in the basement I'm intending on setting this up on a permanent basis. Plus I'm modifying a corner of the bench to do free-lance computer work, which my brother-in-law and I do a great deal of.

Using all 2 x 4 and 2 x 6 materials for the entire bench, except one 24" by 48" 3/4" birch ply sheet. Using 2 x 3 boards for the base of the top and shelves. Cost for lumber, pegboard, stain, sandpaper, wood screws, and bolts = $125.
